Dr. Alioto came to Johnston County in 1997 to join the Duke University Department of Orthopaedics. He started University Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine and has been a part of the community ever since.

Dr. Alioto practices general orthopaedics including joint replacement, fracture care, arthroscopy of the shoulder, knee and ankle, and has a special interest in sports medicine. He has been providing team coverage of the county’s athletes since his arrival.

In joining University Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Dr. Leininger brings several years of experience in concussion management and musculoskeletal ultrasound to add to the Sports Medicine resources available to the Clayton/Johnston County community. He is a former collegiate soccer player at Clemson University and stays active with kayaking, running, cycling, triathlon, coaching/playing recreational soccer, and family time with his wife and two young children. He is very excited to join the University Orthopedics and Sports Medicine team and contribute to the orthopedic and sports medicine health of the Clayton/Johnston County area.
